His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. – 2 Peter 1:3

Knowledge plays an important roles in my life with Christ. Peter says that God has given me everything I need for life and godliness. Everything. How do I get it? Knowledge.

It is easy to play this one off. People become followers of Christ but it ends there. No pursuit of God through learning more about him. We become lazy. Life becomes lame and fades away. we wonder where God is. We are back to where it started or worse. Eyes wide shut.

Knowledge of God should be pursued through reading and journaling, through nature, prayer, and relationships. It is everywhere. Everywhere.

I wonder if I really opened my eyes today, how much I would learn about God. From the words of a stranger to the reading of scripture, to the chill of a morning. Life is right in front of me. Maybe I just live too much with my eyes shut.
