Elevate Ventures Presents DIVE LEADERSHIP, a five-day SCUBA / Leadership Adventure for men.
March 6-11, 2016. Marathon, Florida (Florida Keys).
Dive Leadership is a limited (8 students) venture designed for men to (1) grow in spiritual leadership and (2) obtain their PADI Open Water SCUBA certification. At the conclusion of the experience, each participant will receive a certificate of Spiritual Leadership Training as well as a certification card (“c-card”) issued by PADI. Yes, you will be a certified SCUBA diver at the end of this venture! (If you are already a certified diver, stay tuned. We hope to offer another Dive Leadership Venture for men who are already SCUBA certified.)
The DIVE Leadership Venture is broken down into two phases:
1. Leadership Training. Participants will attend five mandatory meetings in leadership. These sessions will be led by myself and business owner Jeff Gormong. Together we will explore four spiritual dimensions of leadership: Discipline, Integrity, Valor, and Excellence (DIVE). Outside assignments should be expected. These five meetings will take place in Terre Haute, Indiana on a weeknight. Out of town participants have the option of skyping in. Four additional leadership meetings will take place at the Venture House in Marathon, Florida.
2. SCUBA Training. Participants will complete the PADI SCUBA coursework on-line at their own leisure. Coursework must be completed by March 1, 2016. From March 6-11, participants will travel to Marathon, Florida. Once in Marathon, participants will spend four days completing their open water dives under the direction of two SCUBA instructors. We will dive in some of the top-rated dive sites in the world. We have use of a private boast, personal captain and two SCUBA instructors.
Cost: $1500 per participant. This includes lodging at the Venture House, all meals onsite, private SCUBA instruction (from two PADI certified instructors), private dive boat with Captain, basic SCUBA gear rental, leadership and PADI certification credentials, nine spiritual leadership sessions.
Participants are responsible for the following:
- Transportation to and from Marathon Florida. We suggest flying into Ft Lauderdale or Miami and renting a car. Plan on arriving sometime on Sunday, March 6 and departing sometime Friday, March 11.
- PADI online coursework (approximately $160).
- SCUBA mask and snorkle.
